Repair of two water towers in the Starosaltiv community in partnership with ForPEACE
Budget 2 028 000 UAH
The NGO “Good Actions” implemented a project to repair two water towers in the Starosaltiv community of Kharkiv region, aiming to restore stable water supply for local residents.
The village of Molodova and the urban-type settlement of Staryi Saltiv already faced critical water supply issues even before Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine: low system pressure, minimal water flow, and other problems. During the first eight months of the war, these settlements were completely without centralized water supply, which significantly complicated daily life for residents.
Within the framework of the project, the NGO “Good Actions,” together with American partners, joined efforts to restore the water supply infrastructure. Although repairing two water towers was considered an overly ambitious task for a small NGO, the team took on the challenge.
As a result, both stages of the project have been completed. The water tower in Molodova was reconstructed, ensuring a stable water flow for residents, as well as the second water tower in Staryi Saltiv.
The project was carried out with the support of international partners, including Jim Good, the forPeace team, and Britta Ellwanger. Friends of the ForPEACE foundation, with Jim’s participation, involved their network in fundraising, which made it possible to fully finance the reconstruction of both towers.
During their visit to Washington, representatives of the NGO “Good Actions” had the opportunity to personally thank the people who contributed to fundraising for the water towers’ reconstruction and supported the community throughout the restoration process.
